Our Story
Where wonder flows into form.
Musekind Studios is a creative space rooted in curiosity, craft, and care. Nestled in the San Francisco Bay Area, we exist for those who find meaning in making — whether with clay, paper, thread, or imagination.
We believe creativity is abundant and ever-evolving — a lifelong practice, not a final product. That’s why we’re building a studio for artists and aspiring makers of all kinds to explore freely, create intentionally, and connect authentically.
At our core, Musekind Studios is a private art studio that will offer dedicated space and tools, especially for ceramics, so you can focus on your craft without the clutter or pressure of perfection. On weekends, we open our doors to the broader community through guided creative experiences that rotate monthly and invite you to try new mediums in simple, joyful ways.
We’re still in the making, with doors set to open in 2026. But our purpose is already clear: to inspire wonder, nurture process, and celebrate the many ways creativity lives in all of us.

What is Musekind?
[ myoos-kahynd ] noun
Musekind is a collective of curious, courageous, and creative beings who explore, make, and evolve through the act of art.
Musekind is anyone drawn to wonder—those who find inspiration in the ordinary, beauty in the becoming, and a sense of wholeness through the flow of creative expression.
They are not defined by skill, but by spirit.
They are seekers, storytellers, makers, and mirrors.
A Note From Our Founder
XOXO,
Maisee, Founder of Musekind Studios
“I’ve always been drawn to making, not just the end result, but the rhythm of the process itself. As a kid, my sisters and I would spend long summer days learning the art of Hmong embroidery, guided by my mother and grandmother. We stitched flowers into cloth, made doll clothes from scraps, and turned shoeboxes into doll houses. Creativity bloomed naturally — nurtured by the hands and hearts of the women who raised us.
Over the years, I’ve explored many mediums: painting, ceramics, sewing, 3D printing, and more; always attuned to the beauty around me and the inspiration that lives within it. People, patterns, nature, texture… everything has something to say if you pause long enough to notice.
Musekind Studios was born from that quiet noticing, and from a deep knowing: that I feel most myself when I’m creating. And I know I’m not alone. I wanted to build a place where others like me, people with many curiosities and a love for making, could feel at home. A place where you don’t have to have a niche. A place where you can simply begin.”
